SHILLONG: Residents of Nongrah and Umpling on Thursday complained of continuous power fluctuations. People also feared that continuous fluctuations might have damaged their expensive electrical equipment.
When contacted, MeECL officials said that no complaint was lodged in this regard from any area except for one from Demthring where a banner touched the lines and conductors were snapped.
Officials also said that during windy season, often bamboos touch the power lines leading to various   problems including fluctuations.
