The NPP legislator also alleged that police and forest officials have nexus with those who carry out illegal tree felling and coal extraction in Garo Hills.
The legislator alleged that police personnel and forest officials take bribe ranging from Rs 4,000 to 5000  and allow the truck loads of timber to be transported to  Assam.
He also revealed that police higher ups did not support a police officer who detained 17 coal laden trucks which were brought to Williamnagar recently, but instead the officer was transferred with an excuse that he is the target of GNLA militants.
