Office shifted
The Superintendent of Children’s Home (Boys), Jowai, West Jaintia Hills, has informed that the office of the Children’s Home has been shifted from Khliehtyrshi to Chutwakhu and will now operate from the rented house of Neiniroi Khonglah opposite Girl’s Hostel, Jowai from Tuesday.
Civic action
The BSF 65 Bn organized a civic action programme in Mahadev village of South Garo Hills on Wednesday. A free medical checkup camp was held and medicines were distributed for free to the patients. Sports items, furniture, stationeries, water tanks and electric equipment were distributed among the needy people.
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 120 Bn organised a civic action programme recently at Tura during which sports items like table tennis set, football with jerseys, carrom boards etc., were distributed to Garo Union Higher Secondary School, Walbakgre Government Secondary School and Dakopgre Upper Primary School.
Athletics meet
The closing ceremony of the Inter-School Athletics Meet 2016 organised by St. Joseph’s Secondary School, Pynthorumkhrah, will be held on March 17 at JN Sports Complex, Polo at 1 PM. East Khasi Hills SP M. Kharkrang and Colonel P.R. Pawar, 61 Girls Battalion, will be the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
Meeting
Nongstoin College, Nongstoin, has invited all ex-students to attend the alumni meeting to be held at the College on March 19 at 8 AM.
