KJP Synod
The 14th meeting of the KJP Synod Mihngi will be held at Smit Presbyterian Church from March 17-20. In the Saturday evening service, Rev. H.M. Wahlang will deliver the message on the theme of the Synod. Speakers for the Sunday public services will be Rev. Kularskhem Shylla, Rev. Dr. R.R. Cunville and Rev. W.C. Khongwir.
Photo exhibition
A three-day photo exhibition on Health and Family Welfare was inaugurated on March 17 at Pynthorumkhrah Community Hall by headman June B. Lyngdoh. The exhibition is organized by the Field Exhibition Unit, DAVP, Shillong, in association with the Pynthorumkhrah Dorbar. The exhibition is open till March 19 from 11 AM to 4 PM.

D.D. Lapang, Chief Adviser to the Government of Meghalaya, on March 16 handed over the Open Defecation Free certificate to Phamtyrlaw village and Sustainability certificate to Jyntru village at a programme held at Nongtyrlaw village, organized by the PHED, Nongpoh Division.

West Garo Hills District Magistrate Pravin Bakshi has prohibited the large scale destruction of forests in the name of Jhum cultivation and illegal stone quarrying near water sources at Boldorenggre, Rongkhon, Selbalgre and other nearby areas. The order comes into immediate effect and shall remain in force until further orders.
