Rotary meet
The multi district meet, SAMAGAM on Goodwill and Friendship for the Rotary International Districts (RID 3240, India and RID 3282, Bangladesh), will be held on March 19 at the State Convention Center, Pinewood from 5.00pm onwards.
IGNOU notification
The IGNOU has asked all eligible students for the 29th Convocation to submit their forms before April 4.
Cleaning drive
The Shillong Punjabi Youth Welfare Association will organise a cleaning drive at Punjabi Lane, Harijan Colony on March 20 as part of the commemoration of the death anniversary of Bhagat Singh on March 23. In this regard, all shopkeepers have been requested to keep their shops closed from 7 am to 12 pm.
The NSS unit of Seng Khasi College organised a cleaning drive at Mawlai Nongkwar, Suna-Pani Tourist Spot on March 17. Principal of the college, B.Pde, headman of Mawlai Nongkwar, R. Thangkhiew among others took part in the drive.
Convocation
Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Quinton Road, will hold its first Convocation Ceremony of 2016 on Saturday, March 19 at 3 pm. P.S. Dkhar, Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills will be the chief guest on the occasion while Swami Chinmayanandaji Maharaj, Ramakrishna Mission, Hardwar, Uttarkhand, will be the guest speaker.
Blood donation
The NSS Unit, NEHU, Shillong in collaboration with NEHU Students Union (NEHUSU), All Mizo Post Graduate Students Union (AMPGSU) and Meghalaya AIDS Control Society organised a voluntary blood donation camp at the Conference Hall of the Department of Law and Multi-use Convention Centre, NEHU on March 18.
