Mini Health Mela cum Youth festival concludes

SHILLONG: A two-day Mini Health Mela cum Youth Festival organized by the District Health Society, West Garo Hills district, Tura concluded on Wednesday drawing overwhelming response from the people. The programme was held at Jengjal Government Higher Secondary School Playground, Jengjal under Asananggre, Public Health Centre.
Jingan Marak, Nokma of Ringregre-Jengjal village was the chief guest. Marwin R Sangma, Incharge District Medical and Health Officer, District Health Society, West Garo Hills Tura delivered the keynote address and informed that the mela was organized to create awareness about the benefits of leading good and healthy life to the people.
A health rally was also organized during the inaugural function among other programmes. Free health check-ups and laboratory tests were also done. About 1012 patients have registered their names for health check up at the two-day mela.
Apart from these, indigenous games were also organized for the youth of the area for both men and women among other activities that amassed huge participation.
