SHILLONG: The MDCs of ruling Congress in KHADC have decided to lodge a complaint against CEM PN Syiem before the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) for alleged favoritism in allotment MDC scheme fund.
The MDCs had earlier urged the CEM to raise the MDC scheme amount from Rs 2 crore and discuss the equitable distribution of schemes.
As the CEM refused to discuss the two issues, the aggrieved 13 MDCs, in a meeting, decided to move the MPCC.
Informing this, the chairman of  KHADC Mansturdy Nongrem on Monday alleged that there was uneven distribution of scheme fund as some received Rs 2 crore and some got between Rs 5 crore to Rs 11 crore.
In this connection, the Congress MDCs who have all along supported the PDF have sought the intervention of the MPCC.
It may be reminded that there were allegations of uneven distribution of Rs 133.12 crore sanctioned by the Central government to the (KHADC), MDCs from UDP, KHNAM, HSPDP.
Another contentious issue is the performance grant scheme valuing Rs 3 crore which has been in existence since Ardent Basaiawmoit’s tenure.
Nongrem said the policy was implemented by the Executive Committee (EC) but it was found that the grant was distributed according to the whims and fancies of the CEM.
He stated that the CEM should have ensured equal distribution fund.
