SHILLONG: An earthquake of moderate intensity with 5.4 on the Richter scale shook city and adjoining areas at 1.12 pm on Tuesday. The epicenter was in East Garo Hills and it also shook parts of Garo Hills too.
The tremor was also felt in many areas of Northeastern states.       However, there was no damage of property or causality reported. The North Eastern states fall in zone five of the seismic map, making the states highly susceptible to earthquakes.
