NONGSTOIN: The Khasi Student Union, Mawshynrut Circle has urged upon the Deputy Labour Commissioner, West Khasi Hills District to intervene in setting up of Labour Office Division at Mawshynrut Block.
In a press statement, KSU president Armstrong Sohshang stated that setting up of labour office division will bring about development in the area and alleviate the people from undertaking the tedious journey of travelling towards the district headquarter for any labour related work.
He said for the past two years, the labour staff in Mawshynrut functioned without any office. The Labour department had recently appointed one Block Labour inspector, LD and a Data Entry Operator for Mawshynrut Block. Hence, KSU urged the authority to consider the feasibility of setting up of labour office division at Mawshynrut block.
