SHILLONG: The relevance of military history in the context of a war that purportedly wasn’t as researched and written – by military historian and acclaimed author,  Shiv Kunal Verma, in his latest book ‘1962 – The War That Wasn’t’ was expounded by the author himself at a presentation made to air warriors and their families at Headquarters Eastern Air Command, Upper Shillong on Monday. The talk threw light on various aspects that played a significant role in the days leading to the war, and of the ignominy that followed at all levels. Air Marshal C Hari Kumar, Air Officer-Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command, IAF felicitated Verma and presented him a memento.
