Committee formed
With a view to check paid news, political advertisements and media related issues in connection with the by-election to 2-Tura (ST) Parliamentary constituency, a Media Certification and Monitoring Committee, had been formed in East Garo Hills with the District Election Officer C.V.D. Diengdoh as Chairman and Additional Deputy Commissioner P.M. Sangma, Headmistress of Educere Secondary School G.T.R. Marak and District Public Relations Officer W.G. Momin as members.
Visit
Street children of the city will visit Raj Bhavan on Thursday at 11 AM.
Sec 144 CrPC
The District Magistrate East Garo Hills District, has promulgated and order under Section 144 CrPC in the entire district prohibiting carrying of lathis, stones, firearms and other weapons, movement and gathering of five or more persons within the district during the time of election, prevention or any act to disrupt normal life of the people, defacement of public property with slogan and posters and use of loud-speakers before 6 AM and after 10 PM without prior permission of the concerned authority.
