SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress has slammed NPP candidate Conrad Sangma for trying to stall release of fund under MGNREGA, after the Election Commission of India gave its clearance to the release of the money.
MPYC said the web of lies spun by Conrad K. Sangma was being disentangled and slowly the truth was dawning.
According to MPYC, it has always been the forte of the NPP at concocting stories to win elections and they have been doing so and succeeding which has not really been favourable to the conditions in Garo Hills.
The MPYC pointed out that if people will look back at recent years, Conrad has failed miserably at being the local MLA of Selsella constituency where the people saw the mistake in electing him resulting in his defeat in the next election.
“He failed as the Finance minister of the State as well when he de-sanctioned some developmental works including roads from his own constituency citing financial crunch in the State when it was his duty to get those funds,” MPYC stated.
The MPYC also accused him of cancelling the power projects in the State when he was the Power minister, thereby delaying their implementation.
“These projects would have created employment for thousands of youth in the State. This also makes us wonder if his degrees from Wharton and Imperial College are bonafide because nobody has really questioned their authenticity,” the Youth Congress said.
