The Sub Divisional Officer (C), Sohra Civil Sub Division, Sohra has imposed a prohibitory order under Section 144 CrPC prohibiting illegal or rampant dumping of garbage in GAD land or any other land within Sohra Sub Division.
Public hearing
As many as 21 villages of Mawryngkneng Block along with government of officials of various departments participated at a public hearing held at the Block Development Office of Mawryngkneng on May 17. The hearing consisted of discussion and debate on the reports and findings from 21 villages, 6 sub centres and 3 PHCs under Mawryngkneng that was collected by an organization called Grassroot, as part of a project under National Health Mission.
Corrigendum

Training camp
Two training camps for NCC cadets is being organized by 42 Meghalaya Signal Company NCC under NCC Group Headquarter, Shillong. The cadets will be given an overview of rifle shooting, personality development, community living and developing discipline among the boys and girls.
Award
Umroh village in East Khasi Hills has been conferred the Nirmal Gram Puraskar (NGP) and a cash award of Rs. 1 lakh while Mawkasiang and Mawdiangdiang villages have been declared Open Defecation Free (ODF) villages on Wednesday. The office of the BDO, Mylliem Block, awarded the three villages in the presence of MDC David A. Nongrum, and others.
