SHILLONG: Reacting to the claims of one Donboklang Lyngdoh Mawlong  that a girl was harassed by some boys,  the Sordar of Mairang said  that there was no such case of harassment as it was only a land dispute.
Sordar Jonesman Lyngdoh Mawlong said, “We are not aware as to how the girl landed at the Police Station as it is a case of land dispute between the two clans,    Kharmawlong and  Lyngdoh Mawlong.”
It may be reminded that  Donboklang  approached the Mairang police station asking for the case diary and medical report of the girl.
The youth also alleged that he was beaten up by the OC of Mairang.
“On hearing that he was beaten up, I informed the HANM president, Mairang to find out about the matter. However, the HANM president  told  me that Donboklang was inebriated,” the Sordar said.
He added that HANM leader refused to take any responsibility as Donboklang was under the influence of alcohol and behaved rudely with the police official.
The Sordar further said, “Even the medical report of Donboklang showed that he was drunk. It was only after his mother’s request that police released him”.
PDS ration distribution
On the other hand, on the allegations regarding the distribution of PDS ration to the people of Mawlong, Sordar said that the  allegations are baseless while admitting that the distribution of the ration has not been according to the proportion owing to shortage of supply.
He clarified that the beneficiaries were never deprived of their rations at Mawlong during his tenure as the Sordar
