New traffic arrangements for PM’s visit to city

SHILLONG: In view of the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Shillong on May 27, necessary traffic arrangement is being made for the public wanting to visit the public rally at the 5th Ground, from 8 AM.
People coming from Happy Valley and Laitumkhrah areas should take the route from NEEPCO Road and proceed from Demseiniong- Pynthorumkhrah- Golf Link to Polo Parking Lot.
People coming from Rynjah and Mawdiangdiang areas will come from Nongmynsong/ Demseiniong-Pynthorumkhrah- Golf Link to Polo Parking Lot.
People coming from Jhalupara, Mawlai and Jaiaw areas will come from Jingthangbriew- Lawmali- Forest Colony- FCI- PTS- Golf Link to Polo Parking Lot.
People coming from Laban, Bishnupur and Police Bazar areas will take the route        from Raj Bhawan- Ward’s Lake- Polo- Lawmali- FCI- Mawroh- PTS- Golf Link to Polo Parking Lot.
No Entry will be imposed from Lawmali towards Polo Bazar; from Pinewood Junction towards Camel Back Road; from Gurudwara Junction to YWCA; from Commerce College towards B.K. Bajoria School; from 4th Furlong toward C.S. Junction and from P&T Junction towards C.S. Junction.
The entire route from the Helipad at Upper Shillong to Polo to be undertaken by the Prime Minister will be a ‘no parking zone’.
However, ambulances and vehicles carrying patients will be exempted from the traffic arrangement.
