Aadhaar enrolment in State

SHILLONG: The Deputy Commissioner and District Registrar of Citizens Registration, West Jaintia Hills District has informed that the NPR/ Aadhaar enrolment has started in Laskein Block and more than 1000 people have been enrolled in the first three days in the SAGY village of Shangpung Mission.
Simultaneously the district administration will start enrollment in all blocks including Jowai town from June 6 onwards. In this regard, an awareness programme will be held at the District Library Auditorium, Mynthong, Jowai, on June 3. To allay the fears and apprehension of the general public, a team from the Directorate of Census Operations, Shillong headed by J.R Swer, Statistical Investigator will give presentation explaining the benefits of NPR/Aadhaar and the procedure of enrolment.
All the headmen of Jowai town, Thadlaskein and Amlarem Blocks are invited to attend the awareness programme.
