HANM files RTI

SHILLONG: The Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement (HANM) stated at a press conference on Thursday that it aims to bring forward the anomalies found within the Hima Mylliem.
In this connection, the HANM has filed an RTI on February 10, 2015 and received the reply on May 2016.
Speaking to media persons, Sameer Swer, education secretary, HANM Shillong Circle informed that he had enquired from the Public Information Officer (PIO) on the list of the office bearers of a lesser known organization-Hima Mylliem Youth Welfare Organization to which the PIO replied that there has been no decision so far from the Executive Dorbar except the issuance of a certificate by the Syiem of Hima Mylliem to indicate the existence of the organization.
Swer raised a question that if there has been no decision made from the Executive Dorbar, then how the Syiem could issue a certificate to the organization.
On the other hand, with regard to a query on the exploitation of natural resources which includes stone quarry, charcoal, forests areas, toll gate collection etc, Swer said, “The PIO stated that the office of the Syiem has not prepared the lists till date. However, they provided us the receipt of the permission for collection for sand mining.”
Swer said that it is revealed that the Office of the Syiem is unaware of the presence of natural resources within the jurisdiction of Hima Mylliem,” he said.
The reply to the RTI query for the lists of Myntris, Priests, Elders of the Hima Mylliem who unitedly rebelled against Latho Manik Syiem,  the PIO stated that there has been no such information given.
