Income tax raid

SHILLONG: The Income Tax department carried out simultaneous raids in Guwahati and Shillong on Thursday especially in the city residences of some of those who were mentioned in the ‘Panama papers’ to ascertain their investment in offshore entities.
A source, while confirming the raid on Thursday, however, did not divulge whose houses were raided in the city to check the documents related to their offshore investments.
