TURA: A nine-year-old girl from Ranggira locality in Tura was reportedly raped repeatedly by her neighbour.
According to Childline, Bakdil which reported the matter, local residents on June 4 first suspected that something was amiss after they noticed the victim and one John Ch Marak coming out of the room in which they had kept themselves confined.
Later, after further investigation and questioning of the victim the residents learnt that Marak had been committing the inhuman act on the minor since the last few months.
The crime has been reported to the Tura Women Police and investigation is underway to trace the accused who has since been absconding.
