SHILLONG: The payment center of the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL), office at Jingkieng, Nongthymmai incurred the ire of the consumers after they were left with no option but to leave without getting their bills paid.
Sources revealed that on Wednesday the payment center was unable to cater to the needs of the customers as the link was unavailable and it was on the following day that the link was restored during mid-day where some customers were able to get their bills paid.
An irritate customer asserted that despite living in the 21st century with fast track technological advancements when work/assignments can be done at the click of a button, yet for the scores of other customers, Friday will be another day of burden for them in getting their bills paid, with the expectation that all will go well with no technical snag bothering them again.
