Circulate bills before session: KHADC chairman

SHILLONG: The Chairman of KHADC, Mansturdy Nongrem directed the EMs in charge to circulate the bills to be tabled at the KHADC session 30 days before the commencement session to all the members concern.
The issue was raised after HSPDP, MDC Sohryngkham constituency Pyniaid Sing Syiem expressed concern at the indifference of the EMs, he said, “It seems the EMs work at the last moment, which is not acceptable.”
Bills that were introduced at the KHADC’s summer session included the United Khasi-Jaintia Hills Autonomous District (Management and Control of Forest) (Sixth Amendment), Bill, 2016, United Khasi-Jaintia Hills District Fishery (Second Amendment), 2016, other bills concerning the nomination and selection of headmen, Sirdar were introduced.
