Dual post affidavit filed

SHILLONG: The law department has filed an affidavit before the High Court of Meghalaya on Tuesday submitting the views of the Election Commission of India regarding the dual post issue.
The affidavit filed by Special Secretary Law, L.M Sangma enclosed the May 16 decision of Election Commission of India that the post of KHADC CEM P. N Syiem does not fall under the office of profit.
The order of the Meghalaya Governor on May 31stating that Syiem is free from disqualification is also part of the affidavit.
The High Court is yet to constitute a full bench to hear the pending PIL related to the matter.
