SHILLONG: With Chief Minister Mukul Sangma reiterating that NPP will be wiped out in 2018 Assembly polls, NPP president Conrad Sangma on Thursday said the future of political parties do not lie in the hands of individuals.
Earlier, prior to the by-election to Tura Lok Sabha seat, the chief minister had predicted that NPP will be wiped out hoping that the election results would favour the Congress, but in vain.
Reacting to the stand of the chief minister, Conrad said, “He (Chief Minister) has been maintaining the same view. But I want to say that outcome of elections is not in the hands of individuals as public will decide the political fortunes.”
According to Conrad, the duty of the politicians is to work  hard and be committed to the people.
“We present our goals to the people and ultimately it is the people of Meghalaya, or elsewhere in the country, who decide the future of political parties and politicians,” Conrad said.
