New MCCL plant starts production

SHILLONG: The new plant at Mawmluh Cherra Cements Limited (MCCL) has started production. It is not known how much cement the new plant is producing at present.Sources also informed that the Government is contemplating to start the commercial production from the first week of July. The production capacity of the plant, which was around 12000 metric tonnes per year, had gone down to 5000 to 6000 metric tones due to various reasons.The production capacity of the plant is likely to increase to 18000 metric tonnes once the new plant becomes fully functional.
