TURA: The Chibisik Women’s Club (CWC) of Lower Hawakhana in Tura has expressed concern over several wine stores being operational in the town despite the recent notification of the High Court restricting them from functioning within 200 metres from places of worship, educational institutions and hospitals as well as within 50 metres from mid-point of National and State highways in towns and cities.
“Due to lacklustre attitude of the Excise department and the police to control black marketing of liquor, illegal sale of the same is taking place at many places in Tura especially in Hawakhana and Araimile areas,” the CWC said in a statement adding that the trend should be arrested at the earliest.
