Shillong: The Deputy Commissioner (Elections), East Khasi Hills, has informed that the Election Commission of India has launched a comprehensive programme – the National Electoral Roll Purification (NERP) 2016 – with the objective of bringing a totally error free and healthy electoral rolls.
The deputy commissioner has requested all eligible citizens particularly those in the age group of 18-19 years to enroll themselves through the booth level officers during the programme.
All electors/ family members are also requested to come forward voluntarily to disclose their multiple entries, shifted, dead, errors and inaccuracies by filling Form 7 for deletion and Form 8 for correction. The DC also appealed the electors to come forward on their own and voluntarily furnish contact numbers of self or family members and email ID if available.
