FIRs lodged against top NEEPCO officials

SHILLONG: The Chief Vigilance Officer of the North East Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) Satish Ch Verma  has lodged complaints against three senior officials of the Corporation including its Chairman & Managing Director, allegedly extorting money from his subordinate and preventing him (Verma) from discharging his duties.
Verma filed three FIRs against PC Pankaj, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, SB Borgohain, Director (Personnel) and PK Jaiswal, police sources said on Friday.
In the FIRs filed on June 30, he  stated that between May 30, 2014 to August, 2014 Pankaj pressurized Abhishek Kumar, General Manager (HR), to pay an amount of Rs. 3,000 /- per month as salary to one Nitu Handique.
Verma, in another set of FIRs, said that between June 23 to June 30 2016 Jaiswal, Borgohain and. Pankaj, did not allow him to discharge his duties as the Chief Vigilance Officer by sealing without authorization the office of his subordinate officer Abhishek Kumar, General Manager (HR), NEEPCO.
Again on July 1, Verma lodged a complaint stating that Pankaj, Borgohain, and others misusing their authority “extorted Rs. 48,000 from Kumar, as salary for one Dharu Mao”.
Interestingly, Pankaj superannuated recently.
