Five drug peddlers nabbed in city

SHILLONG:  Shillong Police has nabbed five drug peddlers from Mawlai and seized 2.60 gram of drugs from their possession.
East Khasi Hills SP M. Kharkrang said on Friday that police had received information that some persons were selling suspected drugs at Mawlai Phudmuri Pdengshong on Thursday.
Police personnel from Mawlai PS accompanied by personnel from the Special Cell, Shillong swung into action and laid a trap behind Don Bosco Museum.
During the operation, police nabbed five persons – Pynhunlang Dohtdong, John Sunny Lyngdoh, Pailaskhem Dohtdong, Alan Marwein and Kenny Jyrwa – while they were coming in a vehicle (ML05 M 2453) and entering the compound of Pynhunlang Dohtdong.
Police recovered two golden tobacco containers and 22 small paper packets weighting 2.60 gram of drugs from the accused.
