No mass exodus of Hindus from B’desh: BSF

SHILLONG: The BSF has ruled out mass exodus of Hindu minorities from Bangladesh to India following the escalating tension and attacks on minorities being perpetuated by alleged Islamic terror organizations in that country.
The 13 Bangladeshi nationals, (comprising of 12 Hindus and a lone Muslim, had illegally crossed over the international border in South Garo Hills on Sunday to escape such alleged atrocities.
Speaking to The Shillong Times, BSF’s, Meghalaya Frontier Inspector General Pawan Kumar Dubey said that even the former Chief Minister Donkupar  Roy  had apprehended possible mass exodus of  minorities   from Bangladesh “but there is no such exodus till date”.
He, however, admitted that certain fundamentalists in Bangladesh were trying to vitiate the relationship between the two countries by targeting minorities and creating fear psychosis in them.
He said that BSF was keeping a tab on the border to ensure that there is no mass exodus to India.
