SGH DC’s encounter with goons

SHILLONG: South Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner S. N. Marak had an encounter with miscreants while she was travelling from Baghmara to Guwahati recently.
As per an FIR lodged with police, Marak said that on June 30 she was on her way from Baghmara towards Guwahati and on reaching Rangberam under South Garo Hills, she spotted two unidentified miscreants armed with dummy AK-47 rifles robbing the occupants of one Tata Iris vehicle.
On seeing this, she instructed the gunmen accompanying her to fire six rounds in the air following which the miscreants fled but not before robbing Rs 3,500 and one cell phone from the vehicle occupants.
