Training for incident response team

Shillong: The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), Meghalaya in collaboration with the District Disaster Management Authority, Shillong conducted a two day training programme on July 7-8, on Incident Response System for Incident Response Team of East Khasi Hills.
The training was inaugurated by Addl. Chief Secretary Y. Tsering, in the presence of Principal Secretary in-charge Disaster Management Authority P.W. Ingty, Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman DDMA, East Khasi Hills P.S. Dkhar, Executive Officer, SDMA, H.B. Marak, East Khasi Hills SP M. Kharkrang and CEO, DDMA, East Khasi Hills I. Majaw, among others.
Three books published by the Meghalaya State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) titled Emergency Education in Disaster Management, a Manual, Disaster Management Activities Report of Meghalaya State Disaster Management Authority up to 2015 and Directory of the Meghalaya State Disaster Management Authority were also released during the training.
The two day training will be followed by a mock exercise simulating an earthquake of magnitude 7.5 Richter scale on July 9 at the State Central Library, Shillong from 11 AM.
