FKJGP demands immediate repair of Umsning road

NONGPOH: Taking exception to the dilapidated condition of the existing National Highway from Umsning to Umtrew, the FKJGP North Khasi Hills District on Wednesday slammed the NHAI and the state government for their inability to repair the existing road.
The FKJGP said that even though collection from vehicles plying through the NH has already started at the toll plaza setup by NHAI at 20 Mer, the project is yet to be completed, especially at the Umsning Bypass site, where work is progressing at a sluggish pace.
The FKJGP North Khasi Hills president, Eddie G Kharbani told newsmen that the present condition of the existing road has created huge inconvenience to the general public.
The organization demanded the NHAI and the state government to immediately repair the 5 KM stretch.
