SHILLONG: The Peace Committee of Garo Hills will organise a ‘home coming’ public reception for the militants who surrendered in Garo Hills since November 2015 at Chandmary Playground, Tura on August 13.
The decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of the Peace Committee comprising church leaders, NGOs and pressure groups held on July 13 in Tura.
Apart from the Peace Committee members, the meeting was attended by some members of the Phulbari Peace Committee.
The meeting also decided to approach the state government to hold counseling sessions for those who surrendered, at their designated camps.
