Lama Villa Dorbar installs CCTV cameras to defeat crime

SHILLONG: In an initiative that is likely to go a long way in tackling crime, the Lama Villa Dorbar Shnong has installed CCTV cameras in the entire locality.
The cameras were installed in view of the regular reports of theft and burglary and other security related issues in the locality.
The CCTV cameras were inaugurated by Lok Sabha member from Shillong, Vincent H. Pala, recently in a function.
Also extended facilities at the Lama Villa community hall like a kitchen, toilets and store rooms to be utilized by the residents were inaugurated at the same programme.
The projects have been sponsored by the Shillong MP under the MPLAD Scheme of 2014-15.
The Dorbar Shnong also felicitated students of the locality who had excelled in their respective examinations in 2014-16 and two youth who had remarkable achievement in the field of sports – Mr. Meghalaya (2015) Pynshngain Langpen and Mr. Iron Man (2016) Sauniwan Pyrbot.
The Dorbar Shnong also felicitated a brave heart who had helped in saving lives during the natural calamity in September last year, where two precious lives was lost but many others people were saved due to timely action and sacrifice of one Shyam Thapa.
Local legislator Paul Lyngdoh, MDC Adelbert Nongrum and others were present on the occasion.
