Traffic cops honoured

SHILLONG: Smart Charitable Trust, initiated and conceptualized by retired IAS officer, P Naik, honoured two traffic cops recently in recognition of the hard work put in by them during duty hours.
The Trust felicitated head constable Mahendra Saikia of Sadar Traffic Branch and constable Deepak Pradhan of Laitumkhrah Traffic Branch with the “Best Shillong Traffic Policeman Award” for the year 2015-2016.
A certificate of appreciation, a memento and cash award of Rs 7,000 each were given to the   traffic personnel.
The aim of the Trust is to recognize the efforts of common people who have contributed to the well being of society.
Present in the award ceremony were other trust members, Deputy Inspector General of Police (E/R) Meghalaya, Shillong, A.R. Mawthoh, M. Kharkrang, Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills among others.
