Congress leader quits party

SHILLONG: Prominent congress leader Donkupar War has resigned from the party stating that the atmosphere in the party  is not conducive .     In his resignation  letter to party president DD Lapang on Thursday , War said that he was compelled to resign  from the  primary membership of the Congress  in view of the recent developments that has stifled the conducive and congenial atmosphere within the party and that the present situation in the party is completely not in conformity with the aspirations of the members and the electorate in general. War held various positions in MPCC including the posts of  president of Mission Unit Congress Committee,  president Shillong City Congress Commitee,  president of Mawkhar Block Congress Committee,  among others.
