SHILLONG: Police are yet to make any breakthrough in the case related to the missing file of health department. The missing file is related to an alleged scam in purchasing medicines by the health department in 2003. It was in June that the Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Rankio Wankhar had filed an FIR with the police to trace out the missing file and also to find out the manner in which the file was lost.
An official with the health department said on Saturday that it was after the political department inquired about the missing files that the health department had filed the FIR.
“We are yet to receive any report from the police”, the official added      The FIR had said that the file appears to have been misplaced while shifting the health office from Nokrek Building, Lower Lachumiere to the permanent health complex at Red Hills Road, Laitumkhrah.Sources said that the scam was earlier probed by the Anti Corruption Branch of the Meghalaya police.
