Committee to examine NEC role, functions

SHILLONG: The Union Ministry of DoNER had constituted a Committee in February, 2016 to examine the role and functions of the North Eastern Council (NEC), informed Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for DoNER, Jitendra Singh in a written reply to the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
The Committee is required to consult the state governments in the North East in preparation of its report, which would, inter-alia, cover the issue of up-gradation and restructuring of the Council.
