Memorial service
In the run-up to the commemoration of the 129th anniversary of the birth of Khasi Unitarianism, the Unitarian Church Madan Laban will hold a general memorial service in the church at 1.30 pm on Sunday.
Office bearers
The Nongrim Hills Dorbar Shnong has elected new office bearers with Bantylli L Narry as the Rangbah Shnong, WS Basaiawmoit as assistant Rangbah Shnong and Sebastian War as the general secretary among others.
Indian Council of Social Welfare, Meghalaya State Branch, Shillong in its annual general meeting on August 30 elected office bearers for 2016-18. While Tarun Kumari Kharbamon was named the president, Lucky Kharpuri and George Grant Pariat are the vice presidents and Kaira Rose Nongbet the secretary among others.
The Dorbar Shnong Nongrim Hills in its general meeting held on August 27 elected Bantylli L. Narry as the Rangbah Shnong for the period 2016-19. While W.S. Basaiawmoit was named the Assistant Rangbah Shnong, Sebastian War is the general secretary. Other office bearers were alos elected on the occasion.
Office shifted
The office of the District Public Relations Officer, East Garo Hills has been shifted to a building (2nd Floor) near Children’s Home at Warimagre locality in Williamnagar. All future correspondence to the office should be sent to the new address.
KSU unit formed
Continuing to expand its presence throughout the Khasi Jaintia Hills, the KSU North Khasi Hills District under the leadership of Ferdynald Kharkamni, recently formed the Lawbyrwa Unit at a function held at Lawbyrwa. Rijied Kharkrang has been named the president of the new unit.
