Good Samaritan honoured

JOWAI: A Good Samaritan, Ricky Pyrtuh, who saved the life of an accident victim, was on Tuesday honoured by the West Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police at his office chamber.
Pyrtuh, a tourist taxi driver, was handed over a certificate of appreciation.
According to the SP R Muthu on May 31 a Maruti car driven by Md. Reyaz Ali went off the road and fell into a deep gorge. As it was 10:30 pm, no one had noticed the accident. Early morning next day, Pyrtuh noticed the accident and rescued Susanto Das from a 100 feet deep gorge. However, his driver, Ali, succumbed to his injuries.
