Syiem, Rowell skip CLP meet

SHILLONG: KHADC CEM and Congress legislator PN Syiem and Rowell Lyngdoh, who was recently dropped from the State Cabinet, skipped a CLP meeting convened on Wednesday night on the eve of the no-confidence motion to be taken up on Thursday.
AL Hek, who was also dropped from the Cabinet, attended the meeting.
Sources informed that the legislators who attended the meeting were issued a three-line whip, but details could not be ascertained.
The CLP meeting was followed by a meeting of the MUA-II members which was also attended by NCP president Sanbor Shullai.
Independent legislator Hopeful Bamon, who is supporting the Congress-led MUA-II Government, did not attend the meeting as he is in New Delhi attending to some legal matters.
