Award
Puspa Nath Sharma of Pynthorumkhrah LP/UP Nepali School, Pynthorumkhrah was awarded with Nation Builder Award on September 16. The award was given by Rotary India Literacy Mission at the function held at Shillong Club.
Civil Accounts Day
The Departmentalised Pay and Accounts Offices of the Indian Civil Accounts Service located in Eastern and North Eastern Region will celebrate the 40th Civil Accounts Day on September 23 at the North Eastern Police Academy (NEPA), Umsaw from 3 pm onwards. Controller General of Accounts, Ministry of Finance will be present on the occasion.
General conference
The Meghalaya College Non-Teaching Employees’ Association will hold its 6th annual general conference at St. Mary’s College on September 24. All non-teaching staff of the deficit colleges have been requested to attend.
Free vaccination for dogs
As part of the observation of World Zoonoses Day on September 28, the East Khasi Hills District Unit of the Meghalaya Veterinary Services Association will organise a free vaccination camp for dogs at the District AH & Veterinary Office Campus from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The state government has urged owners who intend to get their dogs vaccinated to report to the Veterinary Hospital, Shillong for registration and compulsory de-worming on September 21.

The Shillong Socio-Cultural Assamese Students’ Association (SSASA) thanked West Shillong legislator Paul Lyngdoh for being the chief guest in the SSASA freshers’ meet. The SSASA also thanked the people of Shillong for their contributions in the Flood Relief Campaign for the victims of Assam and Garo Hills.
