Rape cases
On September 16 at about 2 pm, one Brokstar Wanniang raped a 23-year-old woman in a forest at Rangthylliang village in East Khasi Hills.
On the same day, a woman lodged a complaint that  one Pot Shylla raped her inside her shop at Khliehriat  in East Jaintia Hills.
Man brought dead
On September 18 at about 8.55 pm one Ashok Singh (34) of Pynthorbah, Block-II was reportedly brought dead at Nazareth Hospital.
Boy fatally knocked down
A boy was fatally knocked down by a dumper truck at Mupliang village in West Jaintia Hills. Police said that the incident happened on Sunday evening around 7 pm when the dumper truck (ML-05K-8016) knocked down Monbait Dkhar. The father of the victim, Phili Rymbai filed an FIR following the incident.
Masked miscreant attempts to loot petrol pump in Jowai
An unidentified masked miscreant armed with a pistol attempted to loot a petrol pump in Jowai on Monday evening. Two of the employees of the petrol pump suffered minor injuries in the scuffle that followed. Manager of Challam Syngkon Petrol pump, Newhill Jowai, lodged a complaint immediately after the incident. Assaulted person succumbs to injuries
An unidentified person who was severely assaulted by unknown miscreants succumbed to his injuries at the Jowai District Hospital on Saturday evening. The assaulted person was found lying unconscious near Kiang Nangbah playground in the afternoon on the same day.  According to police, multiple injury marks were spotted on the victim’s body. A case of murder has been registered and investigation is on. (From Our Jowai Correspondent)
