The general meeting of the Joint Action Committee of All Teachers’ Associations of Meghalaya (JACATAM), West Khasi Hills District will be held on September 24 at the Ri-Khasi Free Morning Upper Primary School, New Nongstoin at 10:30 am.
Gallantry awards
The Government of India will announce the Ashoka Chakra series of Gallantry awards given in three categories- Ashoka Chakra, Kirti Chakra and Shaurya Chakra. The award will be announced on Republic 2017. Details can be downloaded from http://eastkhasihills.gov.in.
Freshers’ meet
The Mising Students’ Union, Shillong organized a fresher’s social (Kangkin Kebang) in Shillong recently. A day-long cultural programme was held on the occasion. Sports Minister Zenith Sangma was the chief guest on the occasion.
Anti-rabies vaccination
The Jaintia Hills District Unit of the Meghalaya Veterinary Services Association will organize a free anti-rabies vaccination for dogs in Jowai town at the District A.H. & Veterinary Office, Mynthong on September 28. The Association has urged the owners who intend to get their dogs vaccinated to report to the Veterinary Hospital, Mooralang for de-worming on September 21 and 22 whereas registration will take place from September 21-27.
