JOWAI: Troops of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Tuesday prevented a team of the National Building Construction Company (NBCC) from conducting a survey for alignment of the border fencing along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
BSF sources confirmed the incident and said, “BGB blocked the survey for a few hours and later the issue was resolved after a border meeting between the BSF and the BGB”.
Terming the incident as plain misunderstanding, the BSF sources added that top BGB authorities had been intimated about the inspection; however, the information was not disseminated to the lower level by the BGB authority.
After the border meeting, the BGB apologized for the incident and expressed their willingness to cooperate with the BSF for fencing of the international border.
