Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday  launched Special Summary Revision of photo electoral rolls with January 1, 2017 as the qualifying date, in order to achieve an error free electoral roll in all the 60 constituencies of the state.
Chief Electoral Officer Kaling Tayeng said special emphasis would be given for enrolment of new electors who attain 18 years of age on January 1 next year by submitting Form-6 along with colour photograph. Form-7 would have to be submitted for deletion of name from the electoral roll and Form 8 for any correction, he added. He directed all booth level officers to verify multiple entries in the electoral roll and submit report to the concerned electoral roll officers and assistant electoral roll officers to take required action under relevant Act.
“Focus will also be on replacement of black & white EPIC cards with colour PVC cards. The theme of this revision is No voter to be left behind,” he said. The ECI has appointed senior level IAS officers as electoral roll officers to oversee the entire process and directions have already been issued to all the deputy commissioners on the revision, he said.
