Electoral roll list
The lists of polling stations and draft electoral roll for 28-Rambrai Jyrngam District Council Constituency of the KHADC has been published. The last date for filing of claims and objections will be on October 25 and publication of final electoral rolls will be on the November 21. Both the list is available for inspection at the office of the BDO, Nongstoin and also in the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Nongstoin.
Logo design
The Meghalaya State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) will be holding a state level competition for designing Meghalaya SDMA Logo on October 29. In this connection, a District Level Competition for logo designing will be organized in Tura on October 21 at Tura Government College Auditorium from 11 AM. The top three will participate in the State Level Competition in Shillong. The competition is open for all students. Interested participants are requested to contact CEO, DDMA, Tura.
Release of SK oil
The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), Tura has  informed that the S.K. Oil quota for the month of October has been released through controlled/authorized dealers.
Release of rice
The Sub-Divisional School Education Officer, West Garo Hills, Tura, has informed that the food grains (rice) under Mid-day Meal Scheme for the months of July, August and September has been released within Tura Sadar areas.
Career guidance
The Career Guidance Programme for the Meghalaya Police Recruitment  will be held on October 18 and 19 at U Soso Tham Auditorium Hall from 2:00 PM. A similar programme will also be conducted at Sohra on October 20 at the Conference Room of the office of the SDO (Civil), Sohra.
Excise raids
In its continued effort to eliminate illicit liquor sales, the Excise staff of East Khasi Hills, Shillong, conducted raids in restaurants and stalls in the city and its outskirts. On  July, 2016, the excise staff detected 22 cases with a seizure of 202.200 liters of i/d liquor and 25.205 liters of IMFL. 15 persons were arrested under the Excise Act in this connection.
