Foundation Day
The Taekwondo Institute of Meghalaya will celebrate its 35th Foundation Day this year. To mark the occasion a state-level Open Goodwill Taekwondo Championship will be organised from November 5-6. For further details, participants can contact 9402195457/9862951330.
Parade
In remembrance of the police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty during 2015-16, a Police Commemoration Day Parade will be held at Police Reserve, Shillong on October 21 at 7:30am. The Director General of Police will attend the event.
Demonstration
In response to the call of the Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers, New Delhi , the Central government employees of Shillong will observe a lunch hour demonstration programme on October 20 in front of Income Tax Employees Office, Shillong in protest against the recommendation of 7th  Central Pay Commission.
Painting, singing competitions
The Yogamaya Ashram, Laban will organise a painting and singing competition on the Ashram premises on October 23 for school children. While the painting competition will start at 9 AM, the singing competition (Rabindra and Shyama Sangeet) will commence at 12 PM.
