AGARTALA: The BJP Tripura Pradesh Committee on Tuesday demanded punishment for those involved in attacking and injuring BJP workers during the party’s protest rally at Kanthalia Bazar under Dhanpur Constituency against the Left Front.
In a statement, the BJP stated that the party had organised a rally at Kanthalia Bazar under the Chief Minister’s assembly constituency in Siphahijala district on Monday evening protesting the attack on BJP state president Biplab Deb by the CPI-M cadres last week at his house.
During the rally, a four-wheeler, without a number plate led by CPI-M cadres Nani Pal, Nakul Malla and Paltan Dey, entered the spot and dashed the BJP leaders and workers in the rally and fled away. As a result six people, including a policeman, were injured.
