shillong: A 32-year-old woman, identified as Pliantis Nonglang, died on the spot when a pick-up vehicle she was travelling in fell into a gorge at Mawdoh village in West Khasi Hills on Wednesday. The other occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries.
In another incident, a driver and handyman of a truck died on the spot after the truck fell into a deep gorge near Sumer. The incident occurred around 2 pm on Friday while they were on their way from Jowai towards Guwahati. The names of the driver and handyman are yet to be identified as the police are still investigating the cause of the incident.
